    Abstract:

In order to understand the chemical constituents of Akebia trifoliata, seven phenylpropanoid compounds were isolated from the ethanol extract of Akebia trifoliata stems. On the basis of spectral data, their structures were identified as osmanthuside E (1), calceolarioside B (2), 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethyl-(6-O-feruloyl)-β-Dglucopyranoside (3), dunalianoside D (4), dunalianoside C (5), caffeic acid (6) and aesculetin (7). These compounds, except of compound 6, were isolated from the plant for the first time, and compounds 4 and 5 were obtained from the genus Akebia for the first time.
