Plant plasma membrane H+-ATPase plays important roles in regulation of pH in cells, in enhancement of nutrient uptake and in transportation of assimilates. This paper reviews plant plasma membrane H+-ATPase under the following headings： structure, function and molecular machenism, signal transduction events; response of plant plasma membrane H+-ATPase to environmental stresss. Future prospects are presented as well.
