During the past several decades， nitrogen deposition has brought a series of environmental and ecological problems．The subjects included in this literature review are：(1) elevated nitrogen deposition changes nitrogen metabolism in plants due to the increasing nitrogen concentration in plant tissues；(2) it influences photosynthesis including photosynthetic rate，photosynthetic pigments and Rubisco concentrations；(3) elevated nitrogen deposition increases plant respiration；and (4) increases the susceptibility of plant resistance to coldness，pests and diseases．
