    Abstract:

Observations and analyses were made of changes in the physiology of leaves of Prunus mume, Averrhoa carambola and Dimocarpus longan subjected to simulated acid rain at pHs 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 4.0 levels. The results showed that chlorophyll contents in the three fruit species decreased with the decrease of pH level, while leaf damage rate, cell permeability, proline and malodialdehyde contents increased. Physiological changes in D. longan was the least. P. mume was most sensitive to acid rain stress.
