A new species of Sonneratia(S. paracaseolaris Ko, E. Y. Chen et W. Y. Chen) is described from Hainan; S. hainanensis Ko, E. Y. Chen et W. Y. Caen is transferred to Section Pseudosonneratia. A key to the species is given.
