Based on observation to the herbarium specimens and analysis on the protologues, Dalbergia beddomei Thoth. and D. rubiginosa Roxb. are conspecific because they have the same variation pattern in terms of the leaflet number and indument and legume sizes. It is therefore necessary to reduce D. beddomei as a new synonym of D. rubiginosa.
