A new species of Syzygium Gaertner (Myrtaceae), S. impressum N. H. Xia, Y. F. Deng & K. L. Yip, is described and illustrated. The new species is similar to S. buxifolium Hook. & Arn., but differs by its obovate leaves, conspicuously impressed midveins, and smaller fruit.
