Abstract:The role of virus movement protein in the spread of infection in plants is reviewed. The subjectsinclude: movement protein-nucleic acid complex mediates viral cell-to-cell movement; the roles of cellularorganelles or cellular factors on viral spread, including endoplasmic reticulum, cytoskeleton, pectin methylesterase, inclusion bodies, and β-1, 3-glucanase; and regulation of the activity of movement protein.
