Abstract:Tropical and subtropical fruits, due to their high water content, vigorous metabolism and susceptibility to pathogen infection, are prone to quality deterioration after harvest. This paper systematically reviews the physiological characteristics of bananas, lychees and figs, which are mainly cultivated in Guangdong Province, during storage, including the patterns of respiration, ethylene release, antioxidant systems and microbial infection. It elaborates in detail on the research progress of various preservation technologies such as physical, chemical and biological methods, and explores the application prospects of emerging technologies such as nanotechnology and genetic engineering in this field, with the aim of providing theoretical references for the development of new technologies in related areas.
